I. The gift of the Holy Spirit

1. the gift (dorea) which is the Spirit
   Acts 2:38-39 -- receive the gift of the Holy Spirit

2. not eternal life nor speaking in tongues, but Spirit

      Acts 2:4 -- as the Spirit gave them utterance
      Acts 2:6 -- each heard speaking in own language
      Acts 10:46 -- speaking in tongues and praising God

   2. all baptized pentitent believers have gift of Spirit

      Rom. 8:9 -- not have the Spirit of Christ, not belong to Him

1. the gifts (charismata) that the Spirit gives

   1 Cor. 12:4-11 -- varieties of gifts
   1 Cor. 12:28-30 -- all do not have any single gift
   Rom. 12:6-8 -- use gifts that differ
   1 Pet. 4:10-11 -- employ gift for one another

   Eph. 4:11-14 -- gifts were ministries to equip the saints
